But I played this just for fun, and was so taken with the warm, rich, and sparkly tone, I actually bought the amp even though I never figured on buying a $3000 amp, espescially not a new reissue. The hand wiring, premium vintage components, the Weber speakers and virtually vintage-correct circuitry, give the amp the kind of vintage guitar tone I used to hear on the radio in the 60s. I opened up the back for fun, and found the wiring to be neatly done. I've played a Nitro finished Strat, and a 1966 Kay vintage electric through this amp, both sound like Im back in the golden guitar toned 60s. I use it gor Blues and Jazz, it would be great for country and other stuff. I like the low gain design and I play clean tone, and this amp stays clean (but punchy) even at high amp volume. And I find 40 watts to be a good amount of power. The amp is a little heavy and bulky, but who cares with tone like this. I sold my '68 Reissues after buying this.
